XXCross trainer

Scrambles whose optimal xxcross is exactly the length you choose. Plan the cross and two pairs, then compare with the shortest solutions.

Configuration

Every scramble's shortest xxcross is one of these lengths. Most random scrambles need 9 to 11.

The two pairs that go in with the cross, the same ones every case. Any takes whichever two are shortest.

How xxcross training works

What the xxcross trainer is

An xxcross is the cross and two F2L pairs in one go. Every scramble here has an optimal xxcross of exactly the length you pick, from 1 to 11 moves.

How the drill works

Pick a cross color and the optimal lengths you want, then choose which two slots go in with the cross, or let any two count. Hold and release space or the screen to start, then press once the xxcross is solved. With a smart cube connected, the trainer guides you to the scramble from wherever your cube is and detects the xxcross the moment you solve it.

How to practice here

Start at a length you solve comfortably and raise it as your planning gets reliable. With a smart cube, planning and execution are timed separately and your move count is compared with the optimal. Open the solutions to compare with the shortest ones, then retry the same case.

What is an xxcross?

The cross and two F2L pairs, planned and solved together.

Can I choose which pairs go in with the cross?

Yes. Choose which two slots go in with the cross, or let any two count.

Do I need a smart cube to use the trainer?

No. Without a smart cube you start and stop the timer yourself. With one, the trainer detects the xxcross and times planning and execution separately.

What does optimal xxcross length mean?

The number of moves in the shortest possible xxcross for that scramble. You choose lengths from 1 to 11 moves.
