XCross trainer
Scrambles whose optimal xcross is exactly the length you choose. Plan the cross and a first pair in inspection, then check the shortest solutions.

How xcross training works
What the xcross trainer is
An xcross is the cross and a first F2L pair planned together. Every scramble here has an optimal xcross of exactly the length you pick, from 1 to 9 moves.
How the drill works
Pick a cross color and the optimal lengths you want, then choose which slot goes in with the cross, or let any slot count. Hold and release space or the screen to start, then press once the xcross is solved. With a smart cube connected, the trainer guides you to the scramble from wherever your cube is and detects the xcross the moment you solve it.
How to practice here
Start at a length you solve comfortably and raise it as your planning gets reliable. With a smart cube, planning and execution are timed separately and your move count is compared with the optimal. Open the solutions to compare with the shortest ones, then retry the same case.
What is an xcross?
The cross and a first F2L pair, planned and solved together.
Can I choose which pair goes in with the cross?
Yes. Choose which slot goes in with the cross, or let any slot count.
Do I need a smart cube to use the trainer?
No. Without a smart cube you start and stop the timer yourself. With one, the trainer detects the xcross and times planning and execution separately.
What does optimal xcross length mean?
The number of moves in the shortest possible xcross for that scramble. You choose lengths from 1 to 9 moves.
